Thread: Matrix is unleased (will spoil the fun![warned])

I didn't realize I was dealing with such an intellectual. Please pardon me for being such a terribly flawed person as to appreciate something you do not. I'll try to conform to the opinions of big brains like you and everyone else on the board instead of finding things enjoyable and entertaining on my own. I was completely unaware of how foolish I have been to actually like something that you don't. I'll remember to check with you next time before I decide whether or not I like something...

Fact 1) You believe the Matrix movies (beyond the first one) are brilliant movies worth anything more than their weight in dog feces.

Fact 2) You believe a horribly flawed game made only to cash in on the people obsessed with the series is anything more than a lame moneygrab.

Fact 3) You totally overlook huge plot holes and wtf moments (like why all the sentinels in the dock couldn't take out the small group of defenders) and even enjoy them.

There, there's my halfassed attempt. IMO, if the movie hadn't been "Matrix X: Electric Boogaloo", you wouldn't have given a crap about it.

In other words what you're saying is that anyone who thought they were good movies is just wrong. Or that if they do in fact like them, they are suffering from "fanboyism." Has it occurred to you that it's possible for some people to enjoy something that you don't? I love the way you state how it is factual that the movies are worth only their weight in dog feces. That is clearly not your opinion, just the cold hard facts.

You obviously must believe that your a psychic to continue telling me what it is that I believe. I could not give two sh_ts about the motivation for creating the game. I enjoyed playing it, but I suppose I am wrong for that as well. Again, it must not be possible for anyone else to enjoy playing the game since the all-knowing and all-powerful GovernmentCheese doesn't like it.

I haven't overlooked anything. There is this fantastic thing that perhaps only "fanboys" experience called the willful suspension of disbelief. Clearly you believe that the movie is something more than just a movie to be so distraught over moments such as that which are merely there in an attempt to illicit emotion and for the "wow" factor. I do have an open enough mind to sit and watch that moment thinking not only "oh how stupid, the sentinels could totally wipe them out" but also "that looks pretty ..........in". Sure there are plot holes, such as "why would the architect allow the destruction of the matrix instead of just forcing Neo to go into the source?" just as in 99.99% of movies but again it is a movie. It is supposed to entertain you, and I happen to have been very entertained regardless of the plot holes and how gaping they may or may not be. Are you trying to tell me that you can not enjoy any movie that has plot holes and "wtf moments" in it? If that's the case you probably have never enjoyed a movie you've ever seen. You probably sit in front of the TV saying "yeah right, why doesn't gargamel just eat them already? there's no such thing as blue people. how come they say they're 3 apples high but they live in little mushrooms? they are just drawings. drawings can't talk!"

Don't compliment yourself. That was not quite halfassed. Put in a little more effort next time. Sit down and brace yourself for some real facts... Are you ready? Okay, everyone has their own opinion. If someone likes something that you don't, it doesn't make them wrong or you right. You might like red while some other people like blue, but that doesn't make blue a pile of dog excrement because it is ugly to you and it doesn't make them wrong for liking blue. Now the next time you feel a fit of mongolism coming on, just reread this like a mantra and perhaps you will be able to get it through your thick skull that it's okay for people to have different opinions than you.

Yeah, I pretty much hate everything.

Suspension of disbelief is one thing, but if a movie's intended to be omgsodeep it'd be really nice if they didn't have ridiculously large plotholes. You're right about the opinion thing, and I was a little out of line there, but you have to admit to yourself something is wrong when things like the squids being unable to take a couple solitary APU's is a little weak. There are other problems, too, but I'm done, since we'll never convince each other otherwise.

I don't disagree that the movies has big holes and unanswerable "whys" all throughout. The second two are not perfect movies by any stretch, but my only point is that I thoroughly enjoyed them both regardless and I also have fun playing the game. And neither of those facts are worthy of childish namecalling.

I liked it all. You hated it all.

I liked the first one, a lot. That gave me unreasonable expectations for the second two.
